Sail Bags

June 6, 2011

Here’s another new sail bag I just made. These sails come from St. Joseph, Michigan off a J30. I love how this bag turned out. This is the largest one I’ve made so far and the first one I’ve made with a zipper. It even has a spinaker pocket – so cool!

The family I made it for has a boat with green, orange and teal colors. I think this will be a perfect fit!

I just had my first sail bag order. This one is for a Mother’s Day present for one of our friend’s moms. I have so many more in my head I can’t wait to do… if only I could find the time.

These purses are made up from sails that racers no longer use. They’re so light weight and incredibly durable – made of kevlar and carbon fiber blends. I love lining them in fun colors. This one is done in navy blue with navy blue handles. Very nautical.

Pretty soon, I’ll have these upcycled sail bags for sale on etsy.com under billowbags.etsy.com. Friends get a $10 discount off any item!
